Yesterday, I had the pleasure and honor of viewing the film documentary of Sara Spencer-Washngton Story, produced by Royston Scott, her grandson. I also had a chance to meet him and members of his family. While researching Chicken Bone Beach, I stumbled upon Madame Spencer-Washington and fell in love with her history. I am excited for the future of many others learning about her business empire and contributions to America during an era when so few opportunities existed for African-Americans.

I have been working on her story since 2014, and I look forward to sharing it....more to come.
